Brindisi city. Monument to the sailor of Italy.
The monument was built to commemorate the approximately 6,000 sailors who died on the occasion of the First World War (1915-1918) at the behest of Benito Mussolini then President of the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Italy, and the choice of Brindisi was due to the central role that the city played during the Great War.
